Privacy Policy
Effective date: 4 October 2026
1. Our Commitment to Privacy
MoPro Pty Ltd (“MoPro”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy.
We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in connection with the MoPro mobile application, the MoPro website and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
2. Our Role
MoPro provides technology that supports the collection, organisation and transfer of mobility and wellbeing information.
Most personal and health information used through the MoPro app is stored locally on the individual’s device. MoPro does not maintain a central database of patient health records.
MoPro may be used independently or in connection with a clinic, healthcare provider, research organisation or other organisation that has arranged for MoPro to be used in connection with its services (a “Participating Organisation”).
Where MoPro is used in connection with a Participating Organisation, that organisation determines the purpose for which it asks an individual to use MoPro and is responsible for the information it receives through the Services.
Where an individual sends information to a Participating Organisation that uses MoPro for research, MoPro holds and processes that information for a limited period in order to prepare it for that organisation, as described in section 9.
3. Personal Information We Handle
The personal information we handle depends on how the Services are used.
This may include identity information such as name, date of birth and sex; health, mobility and wellbeing information; questionnaire and check-in responses; appointment information; information about a selected Participating Organisation or healthcare provider; and other information an individual chooses to provide through the Services.
Where permission is given, MoPro may also access mobility information made available through Apple Health. Health information is sensitive information and is handled accordingly.
We may handle limited administrative and technical information necessary to operate, secure and support the Services, including records relating to privacy acknowledgements, authorised disclosures and service delivery.
For representatives of Participating Organisations, we may handle professional and organisational information such as names, roles, organisation details and authorised contact or delivery information.
If you contact MoPro, we may also handle the contact details and information you provide as necessary to respond to or manage your enquiry.
4. How We Collect Personal Information
We generally collect personal information directly from the individual to whom it relates through their use of the Services.
Where permission has been given, mobility information may also be obtained from Apple Health.
Participating Organisations may provide MoPro with professional, organisational and administrative information necessary to configure and support their use of the Services and identify authorised recipients.
Our website is primarily informational and is not used for behavioural advertising or advertising profiling.
5. How We Use Personal Information
We handle personal information only for purposes reasonably connected with providing, operating, securing and supporting the Services.
This may include organising and presenting information, preparing reports, facilitating disclosures authorised by an individual, preparing research information for a Participating Organisation where an individual has authorised it to be sent, maintaining records of those disclosures, administering relationships with Participating Organisations, providing support, maintaining the security and integrity of the Services, and complying with applicable legal obligations.
Where information is provided to a Participating Organisation through MoPro, that Participating Organisation determines the purposes for which the information it receives is subsequently used.
MoPro does not use health information to make clinical decisions, determine treatment or independently manage an individual’s healthcare.
We do not sell personal information, use health information for advertising or behavioural profiling, or disclose health information to advertisers or data brokers. We do not track individuals across third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes.
6. Apple Health Information
MoPro may access mobility information from Apple Health where the individual has provided the relevant permission.
MoPro’s access to Apple Health is read-only. MoPro does not add to, alter or delete information stored in Apple Health.
Information obtained from Apple Health is used only for purposes connected with providing the Services and for disclosures authorised by the individual.
Apple Health information is not used for advertising, marketing or behavioural profiling and is not sold to third parties.
Individuals can manage their Apple Health permissions through their Apple device.
7. Disclosure of Personal Information
MoPro does not automatically disclose an individual’s health information to a Participating Organisation.
Where an individual authorises information to be provided through MoPro, the relevant information may be disclosed to authorised recipients associated with the selected Participating Organisation.
Where the selected Participating Organisation uses MoPro for research, sending a report also provides MoPro with an encrypted copy of the individual’s MoPro information. MoPro prepares information from it and provides that information to the Participating Organisation.
We may also disclose personal information to service providers that assist us in operating, securing or supporting the Services, including providers of hosting, communications and delivery services. These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services to MoPro.
We may disclose personal information where required or authorised by law.
Once personal information has been provided to a Participating Organisation, that organisation is responsible for its own copy of the information and its subsequent handling, including its use, storage, access, disclosure and retention.
8. Participating Organisations
A Participating Organisation is responsible for the personal information it receives through MoPro and for meeting its own applicable privacy, security, record-keeping and governance obligations.
Where MoPro is used in connection with research, research participation and consent requirements are managed separately by the Participating Organisation responsible for that research. Agreement to MoPro’s handling of personal information is not consent to participate in research.
9. Storage, Security and Retention
Most personal and health information used by the MoPro app is stored locally within the private storage of the individual’s device.
MoPro uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These safeguards include device-level protections, encrypted communications and encryption of sensitive structured information where appropriate.
Information stored locally by the MoPro app is configured to be excluded from ordinary iCloud and computer device backups.
Where information passes through MoPro’s delivery service, it is processed for the purpose of providing it to the authorised recipient. The delivery service does not retain a durable copy of the report after delivery.
Supplementary information sent to a Participating Organisation that uses MoPro for research is encrypted on the individual’s device before it is sent. It is held in MoPro’s private storage in Australia until MoPro has prepared and provided the research information to the Participating Organisation, and is then deleted. Encrypted research information that has not been processed is deleted automatically 30 days after it is received.
MoPro retains limited technical records for approximately three months for operational, security and troubleshooting purposes. MoPro retains records of each report it delivers, such as the date, the Participating Organisation and the delivery outcome, as a record of authorised disclosures.
Personal information stored locally within the app generally remains on the individual’s device until it is deleted, the app is reset, or the app is removed.
Information received by a Participating Organisation is retained according to that organisation’s own applicable requirements and policies.
10. Overseas Processing and Disclosure
MoPro’s core service infrastructure is hosted in Australia.
Some service providers involved in supporting the Services, or systems used by a Participating Organisation or authorised recipient, may process or store personal information outside Australia. Information may also be disclosed outside Australia where an individual or Participating Organisation directs information to an overseas recipient.
The countries involved may vary depending on the relevant service provider or recipient and may not always be practicable to identify in advance.
Where we engage service providers to process personal information on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is handled appropriately and in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
11. Access and Correction
You may request access to personal information about you that is held by MoPro Pty Ltd and may request correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, subject to applicable law.
Because most personal and health information used by the MoPro app is stored locally on the individual’s device, much of that information can be viewed or managed directly through the app.
Where information has been provided to and is held by a Participating Organisation, requests relating to that organisation’s copy of the information should be directed to the Participating Organisation.
Requests relating to personal information held by MoPro may be sent to privacy@moproapp.com.
12. Data Breaches
MoPro takes the protection of personal information seriously and maintains measures designed to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, disclosure, loss or misuse.
If a data breach involving personal information occurs, we will assess and respond to the incident in accordance with applicable privacy and data-breach notification requirements, including the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where applicable.
Where an incident involves information associated with a Participating Organisation, we will work with that organisation as appropriate in responding to the incident.
13. Privacy Enquiries and Complaints
If you have a question about this Privacy Policy or how MoPro Pty Ltd handles personal information, please contact us at privacy@moproapp.com.
If you believe we have not handled your personal information appropriately, you may make a privacy complaint using the same address. We will investigate the matter and respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be entitled to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) or, where relevant, the NSW Information and Privacy Commission (IPC).
Questions or complaints concerning information held or used by a Participating Organisation should generally be directed to that organisation.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Services, our information-handling practices or applicable legal requirements.
The current version of this Privacy Policy will be published at moproapp.com/privacy with the applicable effective or updated date.
Where appropriate, we may also provide notice of material changes through the Services.
